Fraport Aviation Academy was established by Fraport AG and is operated by Fraport Slovenija. It provides theoretical and practical training in all fields of aviation (airport, air traffic control and airline). Fraport Aviation Academy also offers various non-aviation training courses on firefighting, crisis management and soft skills. Before applying for a specific training course first check all the prerequisites, which are listed under each training description on our website and in our brochure. Training courses without perquisites are available to everybody. 

If you are still not sure whether a selected training course is suitable for you, we can offer you support. Contact us by e-mail at info@fraport-academy.com and together we will find a solution.

We offer more training courses than those presented on our website. If you can’t find something suitable, let us know, as we may be able to customize it for you. You can send us your thoughts and requirements via our Training Enquiry Form, which can be found here.

Our training courses are generally held in English; however some of them are also available in Slovene, German, Croatian and Serbian. If you are interested in any other languages, we can always arrange a translator. For more information, please contact us.

The duration of our training courses varies from a few hours to a few weeks, depending on the specific training course. If you decide to have customized training, we can adapt its duration to your wishes. However, keep in mind that some of the licensed training courses cannot be shortened due to legal requirements. We will be happy to assist you in arranging your accommodation. We are currently partnering with various accommodation providers, who offer services in different price ranges which are all located in the vicinity of our training location. You can choose from listed accommodation providers, or decide on a completely different one – it’s up to you! You can check our accommodation information here.

One training facility is located in Frankfurt, Germany, and a second one is being built at Ljubljana Airport, Slovenia. A few training courses are also implemented at the training facilities of the Centre for Civil Protection and Disaster Relief in Slovenia and the training facility at Fraport Twin Star. Since our mock-ups are movable, we can also provide training at other locations, as requested by our clients.

The facility will, on request, provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which complies with EN standards (EN 443:2008, EN 659:2003 + A1:2008, EN 469:2005/A1:2006 and EN 13911:2004 standard). However, the facility will not provide training boots, which need to be provided by the clients themselves. Yes. All of our training courses are based on the standards and recommendations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the European Safety Agency (EASA), and the American National Association for Fire Safety (NFPA).

A large number of the training courses provided by Fraport Aviation Academy are approved by the Slovene CAA. Fraport Aviation Academy is certified by ISO standards (ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 18001:2015).

Training courses of Aviation Academy follow International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), International Air Transport Association (IATA), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) manual and Slovene legislation. In addition to that Fraport Aviation Academy is also certified by ISO standards (ISO 14001:2015, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 18001:2015).
